編集者として有名。奥さんのJudy-Lynn del ReyはDel Rey Booksの編集者。
『神経繊維』は原子力発電所と思わしき施設の事故を書いた古典。まだ原爆も開発されない時代の先見性を示す歴史的な価値もあるが、内容も迫力がある。ちなみにこの作品で作者と編集者は事情聴取された。
「愛しのヘレン」はロボットものの古典。わたしにとってはジュブナイルが印象深い。
